Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a light blue arrowhead point down bearing the letter "T" olive drab.

Symbolism
The arrowhead and the "T" are adapted from the unit's shoulder sleeve insignia, worn by the soldiers of the 36th Infantry Division during European Operations in World War II.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 18 February 2005, and cancelled the previous design which was originally approved for the 71st Airborne Brigade on 3 April 1972 and redesignated effective 1 May 2004, with the description updated, for the 36th Infantry Division.
